Sacramento patients and supporters rallied this morning at the State Capitol Building to protest recent raids on dispensaries, asking the state to protect our rights. Over a dozen supporters showed up with signs, literature and t-shirts, as pedestrians stopped to chat and drivers honked their horns to show support for medical marijuana rights. Even state employees and law enforcement officers expressed their support for the cause, and asked for more information on how they could help.
Sacramento CC Meeting: Moved to July 11:
The July meeting of the Sacramento Chapter will be moved to July 11th, so that we can celebrate our freedom on Independence Day.
Please join us to plan and strategize for the defense of patients' rights. Agenda items include: The ID card program, up-coming training sessions for advocates, outreach, court support, business items, and any other topics of importance.
Dear medical marijuana supporter-
I am contacting you today because Sacramento County's lawmakers need
to hear from you in order to move to protect local medical marijuana
patients. Over a year ago, the county's Department of Public Health
developed plans to implement the state medical marijuana ID card
program. The Board of Supervisors, however, has not yet conducted a
hearing on the issue, thereby stalling implementation of the program.
If you live in Sacramento County, please take a few minutes today to
contact your county supervisor and ask that they order the Department
of Public Health to implement the medical marijuana ID card program.

Medical marijuana user IDs
Re "Medical pot ID program gets El Dorado OK," June 7: The El Dorado County Board of Supervisors voted to begin a state ID card system for medical marijuana patients. The ID helps police officers identify patients so taxpayer money is not spent on people who have not committed a crime.
Those of us who reside in Sacramento are patiently waiting. Our board of supervisors should be working diligently to provide Sacramento residents with the same protection.
