How to Start a Chapter of The Compassionate Coalition

Starting a Chapter of The Compassionate Coalition

The Compassionate Coalition is a nonprofit organization that defends the rights of medical marijuana patients and care providers. We are a grassroots coalition of patients, physicians, care providers, and concerned citizens who volunteer to defend patients’ rights through education and community participation.

To advance our cause, we help build and support local chapters nation-wide, providing resources and education to defend patients on the local level. Each local chapter plays a vital role in defending patients' rights on the city, county and state levels, while coordinating with other chapters and interest groups for mutual support.

Some examples of our volunteer work include:

  • Educating service organizations, policy makers and the public about medical marijuana rights;
  • Organizing and educating the patient community;
  • Providing a forum for patients, care providers and the public to openly discuss medical marijuana issues;
  • Networking and coordinating with other reform organizations and patient-advocates.
  • Representing patients in city, county and state government;
  • Providing legal and community support for patients and care providers in court;
  • Defending physicians and care providers from unwarranted prosecution and harassment;
  • Training patient advocates to speak to media and government;
  • Announcing important meetings and events to media and patients;

Starting a Chapter:

Since each region faces different a different set of challenges, our experienced officers will work with you to form a chapter that will meet the needs of your community. We will set up your local chapter web page, and you will serve as the contact person for your area. As support grows, we will work with you to setup local meetings, and take action to defend our rights!
