My first year at growing seems to be going great, plants are healthy and tall. I have a total of 6 plants 3 of which are huge at this point...over 5 ft tall and growing taller everyday. I have heard of several friends who had given up on growing due to there crop being stolen. I have heard of all types of ideas including good lighting, sleeping in a tent next to plants, dogs, and fully enclosed cage. My next door neighbor was fixing the fence and had to come in my backyard, he is a known theif/tweek and was eye fucking my plants. I'm sure he will send someone to steal them or he will steal them himself. I have 7 kids total and dont think a dog is a good idea, I dont want my kids getting attacked so renting a gaurd dog is prob. out of the question. Was thinking of encloseing the whole garden, however I walk with a cane and cant walk very well,I dug my holes for my plants sitting in a lawn chair so my labor is limited. Is there anyone who could give me any suggestions on what I should do ?

Few thoughts.

Howdy,
Here are a few thoughts, maybe they will help. If they were in pots or small enough to dig up you could bring them inside at night. You could install those fake video cameras, cheap deterrent. Maybe get a dog that you know would be harmless to children because any dog would be another deterrent doesn't have to be a killer. For fencing, here is a solution that may spur ideas http://www.atafa.com/sports/products/Privacy_Screen_x-256038.html.

Just be careful, the best thing to do usually is once someone knows you are growing is to destroy the crop. Twenty-five years ago my Father had just one big outdoor potted female that a family member of his best friend saw, next thing you know my Dad went outside one night because of noise, it was the fam member of his friend stealing the plant and the bastard gunned my Dad down. Shot many times in the gut but he still lives to this day. My Dad did 3 years in prison because of cultivation and the shooter got away with it (was in Louisiana a few years before they passed even harsher marijuana laws). Morale of the story; just be careful but keep growing & toking!
