Sacramento Rally Report – July 27, 2007

Sacramento patients and supporters rallied this morning at the State Capitol Building to protest recent raids on dispensaries, asking the state to protect our rights. Over a dozen supporters showed up with signs, literature and t-shirts, as pedestrians stopped to chat and drivers honked their horns to show support for medical marijuana rights. Even state employees and law enforcement officers expressed their support for the cause, and asked for more information on how they could help.
Following the rally at the capitol, patients headed over to the California Department of Justice building in an attempt to meet with the Attorney General or his staff. Following many requests and delays, we were denied access, and had to settle for leaving some literature.
Thanks to all patients who showed up this morning to support our rights! We joined with patients in other cities across California to protest the on-going DEA assault, and with your continued support we will overcome!
