Medical marijuana patient Adrienne Simone is facing charges of attempted murder (or possibly capital murder) for shooting one of three thieves who invaded her home in the middle of the night on Sept 25th. She will appear in court on Tuesday October 30th at 8:30AM, at the Sacramento Downtown Courthouse, 720 9th Street, Second Floor, Department 8.

Adrienne's family says that she is a longtime medical marijuana patient who has never been in trouble with the law. Adrienne herself claims that the media did not report the facts of the incident correctly, thanks to the Sacramento Police Department who is attempting to link medical marijuana with crime. Adrienne says that she was attempting to fire a warning shot over the heads of the attackers as they were entering her home, accidentally shooting one invader in the head. The facts in this case have not yet been cleared up, and we have been unable obtain a copy of the police report so far.

Interestingly, the Sacramento Police Department Blog contains an entry from an "Officer Michelle" titled "Medical Marijuana: Fact or Farce?", which denounces medical marijuana, citing Adrienne's incident and the recent raid of River City Patient Center.
