I had an appointment with the Sacramento County Sheriff Lou Blanas yesterday to discuss the department's policy on honoring SB 420 cards.
I had arranged this to be a telephone conference.

At ten minutes before the scheduled meeting, I receive a call from John McGinnis of the Sheriff's office. McGinnis was obviously told by the Sheriff to call this guy with no other information than that. John was in the dark, so I explained that I was on the task force for writing the Sacramento County ordinance on Medical Marijuana Dispensaries, and that the information on departmental policy would be appreciated.

I realized that the Sheriff had handed me off to a subordinate with no authority to set policy, and was unaware that any policy was in place regarding the law (SB 420) that has been in effect since Janurary 2004.
John indicated that they would get back to me. :roll:
