SUPREME COURT'S MEDICAL MARIJUANA DECISION - PROTEST AT FEDERAL COURTHOUSE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - JUNE 8, 2005

Sacramento patients join nation-wide protests following the Supreme Courts ruling in Raich v Ashcroft! Commencing at 12 noon, supporters of California's medical marijuana law will be protesting the recent Supreme Court ruling on Wednesday, June 8, at Sacramento's Federal Courthouse, at 5th & I, downtown Sacramento.

On Monday, in a 6-3 ruling, the US Supreme Court ruled that federal agents may arrest and prosecute sick and dying people who use marijuana, including in states where it is ostensibly permitted. Even a doctor's recommendation to use marijuana does not prevent prosecution, because the federal
government refuses to recognize marijuana as medicine.

When: June 7th at noon.
Where: Sacramento Federal Courthouse, at 5th and I st.
