January 4th, 2006: Rhode Island

Hello Civil Rights Activists of 2006 and Beyond,

Volunteers don't get the traditional holiday time off, as the December raids
have proven. There was even a dispensary raided on December 26th!

On a brighter note, the Rhode Island legislature just passed their very own
medical marijuana law. It looks like a good one, and it includes a sensible
registry system.

success that even the lawyer representing San Diego County does not believe that
they will prevail.

Days later, the federal DEA launched the largest-ever one-day attack on medical
marijuana dispensaries. Agents raided 13 cannabis collectives, all of them in
the San Diego area.
