Hi! New to the board. Cool site, I'm from Socal area, 40 minutes from Hollywood... have had my license since october 04 and renewed it january 06. Being that is now January 07.....I need to renew it again. I was wondering if anybody has renewed their license, or had a license prescribed for more than a year at a time? I have a permanent eye condition which causes alot of pain and I was hoping to find any info I can.
Any input on this is appreciated.
thank you.

Renew Licence
Hello,
I live in Colorado and here the state health department sends me a renew form for my MMJ every year, then i have my doctor do what he does. I am not sure how it works in you're state but Colorado has a good program that works.
Hope this might help you a little be safe and peace out.,
License, ID Card or Doctor's Letter...I'm confused.
Joel,
I'm not sure what you mean by license...
If you're close to Hollywood-within L.A. County-The county has not yet connected with the State of CA to begin issuing Medical Marijuana ID Cards...so I'm pretty sure you're not referring to the State ID card when you said license. But just FYI, once L.A. County does begin to implement this procedure, it will be on a "yearly" renewal basis, at least that's what I've come to understand from what information I've gathered so far.
If you mean, do you need to go to the doctor every year to get a
new/valid RX (letter of recommendation) or isn't there a chance you might be able to have it written with a longer time frame....
Then, your answer would be NO.
It is a part of the law which doctors must comply with, without predjudice. One year is the maximum amount of prescribed time that your letter is to be valid for. Be grateful it's only once a year you have to renew/review...There are doctors who are decidedly claiming that certain patients might only need 3 months, or 6 months...and then not renew the med/pot rx, stating that the patient has no need for the medicine at present.
If I've answered you question to your satisfaction, let me know.
If there's something I've missed-Please ask so I'll know whether I've given you good information...Or not.
A year is the duration of choice at this time.

Thanks for your response,
Thanks for your response, you did answer my question, I should have described what I meant a little better though. I'm referring to the doctors signature (letter of recommendation)that I have to renew every year. Like you mentioned above, Los Angeles has not implemented a state I.D. card yet so the doctors signature is the only form of identification I have that says i am licensed to consume marijuana.
I was just throwing out the question because my friend swears that someone he knows gets their license(doctors recommendation) renewed in San Francisco for 2 years at a time. I told him that it is state law to be evaluated once a year but he continued to tell me his friend got his for 2 years in the Bay area. I was just curious to hear if this was true from someone that maybe knows a doctor or has had theirs issued for more than a year, given a specific condition.
thnx for answering my question and you are very correct, I should be very grateful dor a 1 year pot rx.

I appreciate you taking the time...
Thank you for taking yje time to let me know if my answer was helpful.
This whole thing is new to me too. It's my 2nd year as a patient and I'm learning as I go.
I would like to know what your favorite "flavor" is and why it works best for you, and if you don't mind telling me what ails you, that would help me with some reaseach I'm doing for somethings I'm writing...
Thanks again!

Hey, no problem. My favorite
Hey, no problem. My favorite 'flavor' would probably have to be any purple indica. I go to a clinic in LA that has this strain called 'the bomb purple erkle'. I have been getting it for a long time and I can't say I have gotten sick of it. It helps relax my body and mind from the stress and physical pressure I have in between my eyes, from my eye condition(a macular scar). The condition causes extreme pressure in my eyes and thus creates stress or hypertension whenever I try to do anything visually demanding. The indicas have been best to me for this and I try to smoke sativas every once in a while due to 'cerebral mind lift' I get from them. I lean more towards the indicas but enjoy sativas as well.
If you have any other questions for your paper, let me know, Im happy to help.
