* Yolo Co. Action Alert *

Dear medical marijuana supporter,

Next Tuesday, February 27, the Yolo County Board of Supervisors will be conducting a hearing on the implementation of the statewide medical marijuana ID card program. The Public Health Department is seeking the board's approval to move forward with the program in Yolo County.

Once the voluntary program is made available, local patients will have the opportunity to obtain the ID cards through the county. The program provides further protection from detainment, arrest or the seizure of medicine for those who choose to become cardholders.

If you live in Yolo County, please take a few minutes to contact the Board of Supervisors to express your support for this important program. Please email
all five board members, politely urging them to order county staff to begin accepting applications for the ID cards, without further delay. Feel free to use the sample email message, posted at the bottom of this communication.

Honorable Members of the Board of Supervisors,

I am writing you today to ask that you vote to approve the County Public Health Department's plan to begin issuing the statewide medical marijuana ID cards in Yolo County. Local patients have already waited far too long for the county to make this important program available.

Not only is the implementation of the medical marijuana ID card program a requirement of state law, once the program is in place, the cards will greatly assist both patients and law enforcement alike.

Next Tuesday, Feb. 27, please cast a vote to direct the Department of Health to implement the medical marijuana ID program. Doing so will be a major step in advancing the will of California voters and upholding state law.

Thank you,

[your name]
[city of residence]

Statewide Registry

I really hope that it becomes a state registry for California MMJ patients, I know from being a Colorado state registerd patient that it works and hopefully other states will look at Colorado and see how well the MMJ state program is run. BE safe and peaceout all
