Hi Everyone,
The San Bernardino Sheriff's Office have made good on their threats to begin "aggressively
cracking down on violators of a county moratorium against selling marijuana" as exactly three
weeks after the raid and arrest of the operators of a delivery collective in Phelan,
approximately 30 Sheriff and Chino Police Officers raided the San Bernardino Patients
Association collecitve in Chino.
With their badges covered, the police placed paper bags over the collective's security cameras
and proceeded to arrest everyone in sight. When the police melee was over, the husband and wife
operators of the collective were arrested along with eleven employees. Taken were all the
collectives medicinal marijuana, computers, patient records and even some furniture.
In addition to arresting the operators and employees of the collective, police set up a
checkpoint in the parking lot and searched patients coming to the collective to obtain their
medicine. A number of arrests were made charging patients with possession amongst a litany of
other bogus charges.
The collective's operators and employees are now in jail on a combined $4 million in bail facing
charges of possession of marijuana with intent to sell. Yes We Cannabis has reported that at
this time formal charges have not been filed by the San Bernardino District Attorney's office
against the operators of SBPA, though they are still being held in custody. They are due to be
arraigned Friday morning at 7 a.m. in the Chino Superior Court, Department C-2, 13260 Central
Ave. Chino, CA 91710. If you can make it to provide court support, it would be greatly
appreciated by all involved.
We cannot sit idly any longer. Patients and advocates essentially did nothing after the Phelan
busts. BIG MISTAKE!!!!
We will not make that mistake again. We are going to take action - the SB Sheriff's office must
be held accountable for this blatant and lawless action on their part. If the SB collective was
doing anything wrong, it was simply a violation of a zoning ordinance and you do not arrest and
imprison and hold people on a $4 million bond for a violating a zoning ordinance.
During SB County's malicious and mean-spirited lawsuit to have Prop. 215 declared
unconstitutional, SB Sheriff Officers continued to arrest and the SB DA's office continued to
prosecute legitimate medical marijuana patients. Now they are continuing to arrest and prosecute
legitimate medical marijuana providers as well as patients like Don Lawrence.
SB Law Enforcement is being aided and abetted by the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors
who refuse to implement a medical marijuana collective ordinance that will allow for their
operation.. It is now beyond obvious that SB County has no intention of fulfilling their
commitment made after their humiliating loss before the U.S. Supreme Court to implement
California's medical marijuana law.
Make no mistake - these evil actions will be dealt with. Meetings are now taking place,
attorneys consulted and plans being made on how to best deal with this new round of hatred
against medical marijuana spawned in the rabid offices of San Bernardino County law enforcement.
At the Saturday, April 3 MAPP meeting and again at the Wednesday, April 7 we will bring you the
latest information and more importantly, what is being undertaken to counteract this vicious and
deceitful attack on medical marijuana patients and the laws of the state of California.
As mentioned previously, 37th State Senate candidate Anna Nevenic, RN, will be at the meeting.
She needs to know about this outrageous behavior by our local law enforcement and what she, as
an elected official in the state legislature, can do about it.
The Palm Springs/Coachella Valley MAPP meeting is this Saturday, April 3 beginning at 3 p.m. at
Crystal Fantasy, 266 N. Palm Canyon, in downtown Palm Springs 92262, across the street from the
Hyatt Regency.
The Riverside/Western Inland Empire meeting is this Wednesday, April 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the THCF
Medical Clinic, 647 Main Street, Riverside 92501.
This issue will also be thoroughly explored on the Monday, April 5 radio show Marijuana
Compassion and Common Sense. The show begins at 6:05 p.m. and can be heard on KCAA 1050AM and is
simulcast on the Internet at www.kcaaradio.com. Call in with your outrage to the listener
call-in line at 888-909-1050.
